The Southern Brazoria County Homeschool Baccalaureate Committee (SBCHBC) is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created by and for local homeschool families. Our mission is to celebrate graduating seniors through a Christ-centered baccalaureate ceremony that honors the heart of home education.
We are not a school or a business — just a community of parents working together to create something meaningful, memorable, and grounded in faith.
To honor and celebrate the unique educational journeys of homeschooled seniors through a Christ-centered graduation ceremony that reflects the values of home education, supports parental autonomy, and fosters community without creating financial burdens on families.
This committee is organized entirely by volunteers. We are not a school or a business — just a group of committed homeschool families coming together to create something meaningful and Christ-honoring for our graduates.
Christ-centered - Everything we do reflects our desire to honor God and keep Christ at the heart of this celebration.
Parent-led - This ceremony is built by the very people who know these seniors best — their families. We believe parents are the primary educators and celebrators.
Community-driven - We value connection and support among local homeschoolers and seek to strengthen those bonds through a shared experience.
Affordable and accessible - We strive to create a meaningful, dignified event that doesn’t place a financial burden on participating families.
